Admitted to practice law in 1971 Edwin Boma Peter-Kio was the principal lawyer in chambers and the founder of E. Boma Peter-Kio & Co. He remained in active legal practice for over forty years and has extensive legal practice in litigation, commercial law, and arbitration. Formerly a teacher before his advent into legal practice, his one passion has remained to practice law. Now well into his eighties, he has mentored several other members of the legal profession and his wealth of
knowledge, experience and inspiration remains a constant source of guidance to the rest of the firm. Edwin Boma Peter-Kio was the first in Nigeria to argue that the doctrine of frustration of contract is applicable to leases in the case of Araka v. Monier Construction Co. (Nig.) Ltd. (1978) L.R.N 60. The Supreme Court agreed with him and that has been the position of the law to date.
