Piriye Peter-Kio who was admitted to the practice of law in the year 2003, and has been in active legal practice since then is currently the Managing Solicitor of the law firm of E. Boma Peter-Kio & Co. He is dedicated, honest, focused and very thorough. He has a degree in Political Science from the University of Calabar, and a degree in Law from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (now Rivers State University). He has a varied and extensive litigation experience in land cases, chieftaincy matters, communal conflict management and resolutions and environmental issues, etc. He was a resource person to the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (Treasure FM 98.5) from 2004 – 2005 on Legal Angle, a public enlightenment programme on legal matters which was widely listened to throughout the Niger Delta and South East geopolitical regions. In 2017, he participated as resource person in the Workshop on NOSDRA Amendment Bill organized by the Environmental Centre for Oil Spills & Gas Flaring (a non- governmental organization) in collaboration with the 8th National Assembly.
Mr. Piriye Peter-Kio is an active member of the Nigerian Bar Association and became the pioneer secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, Degema Branch and a member of the NBA National Executive Committee, the highest decision making body of the Nigerian Bar Association (2014 – 2016). He is also the immediate past vice chairman of the NBA Degema Branch (Treasure Bar). Mr. Peter-Kio has been a mentor to several persons including some younger colleagues.
